The governing body of the college is the Hunter College Senate, a representative democratic body that emerged out of the late '60s college reforms. The Senate contains elected representatives from faculty, students, and, ex officio, administrators. Resolutions are brought forth by senators or committee members, and discussed and voted on at bi-weekly meetings (Wednesday, 4:00 - 5:30p). Student Government, whose primary role is to administer the semesterly Student Activity Fee, is run on a party system. SLAM, the Student Liberation Action Movement, has been in power for the last several years, and has run unopposed in the last two. Their offices are in 121HN.
