of Our Time
Frank Sinatra was an American icon who focused on music and became
known as a legendary voice.
Born December 12, 1915 in New Jersey, Sinatra grew up a Bing Crosbey
fan, who influenced him highly in achieving his inner voice.
His parents had hopes of him becoming an engineer, but Sinatra had
other plans.
Sinatra completed various roles in film and music, becoming a Grammy
and Oscar winner.
His film roles were as listed:
``The Man with the Golden Arm'' (1956), ``The Manchurian Candidate''
(1962)
``Guys and Dolls'' (1956), ``High Society'' (1956) and ``Pal Joey''
(1957).
He recorded numerous hits for Columbia Records
between 1943 and 1952
Some of his biggest hit songs included ``Chicago''
(1957),
``It Was a Very Good Year'' (1965), ``Strangers in the Night'' (1966)
and ``My Way'' (1969).
``Witchcraft,'' ``I Get a Kick out of You,'' ``The Lady is a Tramp''
and ``New York, New York.''
Frank Sinatra also became a leader of "The Rat Pack" which was formed
in the late 1960's.

After an 80th birthday performance in 1995, he
retired from music.
Sinatra died of a heart attack at age 82 on May 14, 1998.
