What is the Salsa/Mambo Club?

(and Frequently Asked Questions)

The Salsa/Mambo Club provides a place for individuals to socialize, enjoy, and communicate the latin culture through participation in the salsa/mambo dance classes. It will also give an opportunity to those who are dedicated, motivated, and interested to join the Salsa/Mambo Dancers.

Anyone who is part of the Hunter College Community is entitled to join the Salsa/Mambo Club for free as long as they participate in the salsa/mambo dance classes. To register, come to any meeting and sign up. To be on the mailing list, sign up on the mailing list sheet at a bake sale or during a dance lesson. You will be automatically invited to join our AOL website http://groups.aol.com/salsamamboclub/ where you can see pics and post messages (you don't have to be a member of AOL).

Q: When are the next classes going to start?
A: As of now, I can't answer that question. Please keep an eye out for flyers or maybe visit this website for any updates.

Q: What should I wear to the classes?
A: Wear something comfortable, salsa is hot stuff, you'll probably sweat. Wear shoes that you can turn standing on one foot. Forget about flip-flops, sandals, mules, I don't know about clogs, (I prefer socks, but they get dirty fast) you figure it out.

Q: I have a class for a part of the meeting. Can I come/leave at any time?
A: Yes, feel free to walk in anytime, though it is good to warm-up from the beginning, it is ok. You can leave at anytime too.

Q: I'm shy, can I just watch?
A: Heck no! Our main rule is: if you come to a class, you have to participate. When everyone is doing it, it is not so scary.

Q: How do I contact the person in charge of this website?
A: Send me an email: DukeOfDance@aol.com
